I Didn’t Tell Anyone I Bought a Digital Marketing Course—Here’s Why

I used to think making money online was just a scam.
Every time I saw another “success story,” I rolled my eyes. But deep down? I was jealous. I wanted it to be me.
Then one day, I made a decision that changed everything.

The Moment Everything Shifted

It took me two whole weeks to finally buy the course.
Two weeks of overthinking, scrolling, watching endless videos, reading forums—trying to work out if I was about to get scammed or if I was throwing my money away.

I kept asking myself:
❌ Am I seriously about to fall for something at my age?
❌ What if I waste my money?
❌ What if this doesn’t even work for me?

But then I saw one comment that completely changed my mindset.
I was in a  forum where people were posting their earnings, and someone said they were disappointed because they “only made £4,000 that week.”

Wait. £4K in a week… and they’re disappointed?
That kind of money would change my life—and these guys weren’t making it because they had to… they were doing it because they could.

That’s when it hit me:
🔥 I want to be in that position too.

I Bought the Course… And Thought I Made a Huge Mistake (Here’s Why)

I did it. I bought the course. And within minutes, I felt physically sick.
I sat there, staring at my screen, thinking:
🔹 What have I just done?
🔹 Did I just fall for the hype?
🔹 How could I be so stupid?

Even as I started going through the modules, self-doubt kicked in.
I was learning about digital systems, email lists, automation tools—things I’d never even heard of before.
The pieces were coming together, but that nagging voice wouldn’t shut up:

❌ This won’t work for you.
❌ You’ve just wasted your money.
❌ Who’s going to listen to you?

But here’s what I know now:
💡 Self-doubt is loudest right before you step into something new.

Why I Didn’t Tell Anyone I Bought the Course

Truthfully? I felt ashamed.
I didn’t tell a single person because I was scared that if I failed, it would be just another thing that didn’t work out—another reason for people to laugh or gossip about me.

But here’s what I’ve realised:
✔ It’s nobody’s business.
✔ You don’t owe anyone an explanation for investing in yourself.
✔ Moving in silence is sometimes the best way to move.

Because let’s be real—people don’t always mean to put you down, but they do.
A joke, a side comment, a raised eyebrow—that’s all it takes to plant doubt in your mind.

And I wasn’t about to let someone else’s limited mindset stop me from trying to change my situation.

Is It Wrong to Want More?

For a long time, I felt guilty for wanting more money. But why should I?

❌ I don’t want to spend the rest of my life struggling.
❌ I don’t want to live paycheck to paycheck.
❌ I don’t want to keep choosing between heating and eating.

💡 I want to be in a position where £4K in a week isn’t just a dream—but a normal part of my life.

📌 How to Know If a Course is Right for You

If you’re hesitating like I was, here’s what I wish I knew before buying:

1️⃣ Check Who’s Teaching It

🔹 Do they have real experience in the industry?
🔹 Are they making money using the methods they teach?

💡 Red Flag – If their only income comes from selling the course itself (not actually doing the work), be cautious.

2️⃣ Look at Reviews & Community

🔹 Does the course have positive feedback from real students?
🔹 Is there an active community where people share their progress?

💡 Green Flag – If people in the course are actually making money, that’s a good sign.

3️⃣ Be Honest About Your Commitment

A course alone won’t magically change your life.
❌ If you’re not willing to put in the effort, no course will work.
✅ If you’re ready to take action, the right course will save you months—even years—of trial and error.

🔥 What I Learned From Finally Taking Action

Buying that course wasn’t just about making money. It was about:

✔ Proving to myself that I was serious about changing my life.
✔ Investing in something real instead of just watching free content and never acting on it.
✔ Overcoming fear—because fear is what keeps most people stuck.
